Actually, I think I was over the Olympics about 20 minutes after the opening ceremonies finally started and I promptly fell asleep from boredom.
Don't get me wrong...I love me some Bode Miller...but it was just A LOT.
Helloooooo Mr. Miller...
Did we really need 4 hours of coverage every night? I am pretty sure a more abridged version would have been fine. I think I could have carved it down to an hour. Show a montage of the people who fell...show the person who won...then cut to someone's mother/father/brother/dog crying. Boom! Show over.
I know! I should have been a producer!
Anyway, the coverage was so long that a lot of the best stuff wound up being aired after 11 at night and HELLO, some people desperately need their beauty sleep have to get up early to go to work. I can't be staying up until 11:45 to watch ice dancing!
Anyway...I am glad it is over and I can resume watching my regularly scheduled mindless television.
But I will miss Bode.
And Apollo.
And Shaun...

Stumble It!

Wait, the Olympics were on?
j/k, but really, I was not into them. I like the summer sports better and they took off America's Biggest Loser. . .
How did we do? ;)
Um. I didn't have the nerve to say it myself.
I just wasn't into it at all.
I was afraid my husband was going to make me watch the closing ceremonies with him.
Tired of faking that I care.
Yay!
Time to return to our regular programming.
Crime and medical dramas are the rage this season.

I liked the Olympics but I am so glad to get back to regular TV.
I was glad to watch some coverage, and I'm glad the Olympics are only 2 weeks at the same time. I always fell asleep before the good stuff came on. And I'm really glad my Monday night shows on CBS should be new tonight. I'm ready for a good comedy.
I was over it too, at least the winter...i'm more of a summer olympic gal.
You read my mind. I am ready for the regularly scheduled broadcasting to return.
I fell asleep during ice dancing from boredom, although I did enjoy catching the best few figure skaters. It amazes me how they move like that on the ice and in the air, etc.

I'm sure by now you are sick of me saying that we never turn on our tv etc ... Obviously we watched very little of the olympics and what we did watch was at someone else's house. I think if you have nothing better to do with your life then sure, why not drag it out over 5 hours? But wouldn't it be really nice if the tvo could just pick up all the best parts, you could record it and then watch the 1 hour condensed version just like you suggested. I think it is a good idea for those of us who don't want to spend our entire evenings watching a lot of boring stuff too.
My husband was all about it. I watched a bit, but not faithfully.
My 4 y.o. was really into it. I think b/c they did their own version at school. So he's all about Shaun White and bobsledding...good thing I dvr'd some of the coverage so he doesn't go into olympics withdrawal.
Oh now I wish I actually paid attention to the Olympics.
we dvr'd (is that a word) the evening coverage and then would watch a very abridged ff version with the kids the next evening... perfect for me.. felt like i got my fix to be american, cheered and clapped, but didn't have to watch hour upon hour!
