Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

I do not transition well.

Today, I am back to work after having over a week off...

and I am MOST DISPLEASED about it.

Sure, I love my job...but I find it extraordinarily difficult to get back into the swing of things.

Instead of being bright-eyed, energetic, and engaging...I will feel sluggish and sullen and I will have to resist the compelling urge to tell the children that I am NOT IN THE MOOD for school today so why don't they go read a book and leave me alone so I can put me forehead on my desk and imagine myself on my couch in my pajamas.

But whatever...I will have to just smile, deal with it...

And count down the days til February vacation.

(Hurry up, 2/12!)

This morning you and the kids may feel exactly the same.
Wishing you a good first day of work this year!

I think everyone part of the education system feels the same way you do today!

Does anyone actually LIKE working?

Go ahead and put your forehead down on the desk. My math teacher did that all the time and got away with it. Of course that was because she had finished off all of the vodka in her school mug, but that's neither here nor there...

The teachers feel the same as the kids, and we parents are rejoicing. I'm convinced there's a special place in heaven for teachers everywhere after talking to my teacher friends.

...and I bet the kids are all worked up seeing their friends again after the break.

Hope your day gets better:)

I think my kids are actually excited about getting back to school today, but I doubt their teachers are. Good luck!

If it helps my kids are feeling the exact same way. They went from being excited last night to whining, lethargic children who might not make it to the bus!

Happy day!!!!

One of the downsides to being a SAHM? No vacation. Sigh.

I am just the opposite. I am doing a happy dance b/c vacation is over and we are back into the normal swing of things.

Good luck today! Teachers in our area have a 4 day weekend next Friday and Monday, plus only have the kids half days Wed & Thurs next week as well

I'll refrain from mentioning how many times today I curl up on the couch in my pajamas then.

I know a lot of my friends who are teachers feel the same way. But one thing they can look forward to are the countless 3 day weekends we've been having in HI because of furlough fridays (budgetary reasons). I can't even remember when was the last time my son had a full week of school!

What can I say ... other than I'm glad I'm not in your school district. JUST KIDDING!

I was dreading that 6 am alarm this morning and I don't even have to stay at school--just drop 'em off and head back home!

Yeah, I've had a head ache for two days readjusting to the back to school schedule, and I'm not even teaching!!!!

More time in jammies on the couch sounds blissful. Just getting my kids up and off to school is enough to make my brain fall out...leaving for work after that tomorrow is going to kill me.
