Aloha, Hacker!

So, I have one of those coughs going on right now...

You know, the one where your lungs spasm and you cough and hack and gag until your eyes water and you can't breathe?

Oh, it's great.

So basically this week I am using my Aloha Friday time to appeal to the internet and all of you Aloha Lovelies to help cure my cough!

I figure one of you must have a medical degree, or that there may even be a witch doctor out there in the in blogosphere!

What can I do to get RID of this cough?

(And if the cure could somehow involve shopping, chocolate, and/or wine that would be FABULOUS.)

Take 2 Alohas and call me in the morning.

Okay! Go shopping, drink LOTS of wine whist nibbling on chocolate. Pass out and in the morning you'll be so hungover you won't even remember you had a cough! That is of course until you have to cough. Hmm. Hope you feel better :(

Nebulize, perhaps put your wine in the nebs machine. You may get so high when you inhale it, it may just cure your cough.

Or Not.

A trip to the doctor will get you a prescription that is more effective than any off the shelf cough medicine. I hope you get over it soon.

warm liquids, run a humidifier in whatever room you are in constantly. At night the "rub vicks on your feet" trick surprisingly works. Not sure why.....but it works. Some old fashion Tylenol Cold or something would help as well.

I usually drink lots of tea, eat soup and talk long, steamy showers... and then pretend it's helping.

We like using the Shower Soothers, warm chicky noodle soup, ibuprofen (for the kids), nebulizers & occasionally, inhalers.

I hope your cough runs away soon!

I feel for you. I have two kids with coughs who are happy and otherwise healthy ... but I've been wondering how to get the darn cough to go away?!!!

Have you considered voodoo?

I have the same thing. It's like a slow death. Theraflu has helped keep the beast down, but it's lingering, the brat!

Aww hope you feel better soon - coughs are the worst! Chamomile tea with lots of honey and fresh lemon always does the trick for me :) Feel better Mama.

I didn't read all the comments, but Mucinex is what I take, and if there's snot involved, I take Sudafed with it too. Not the wimpy stuff off the shelf either. You have to get the stuff where you take the little cards to the pharmacist and sign away your first born to get. Hope you feel better soon!

As you can see, I am late to the party. I hope your cough is well by now. I broke a rib coughing last year and swore I would not cough at all this year. I pop mucinex like candy!

I hope you feel better soon. My family just got over colds like yours. Take it easy!

I know I'm a little late, but, my family swears by this cough remedy - mix up your own concoction of whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Take a few swigs of this before you go to bed (or during the day if you are staying at home). It works!
