WW: Love a Veteran

My Nana did...

Isn't that a sweet picture? I may have posted it a long time ago just after she died...

My grandparents were dating when he went away to fight in WWII. He sent her a picture of himself in his uniform with a love note on the back, and this is the picture she sent back to him.

(Are her shoes cute, or what?)

Both of my grandfathers were veterans of WWII, and my dad is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Thank a Veteran today for their service (and for the day off! Woot Woot!)

And apropos of nothing, today is the 15th anniversary of the first date for Doug and I.
Think he'll remember that prior to reading this?

Angie would rock some saddle shoes.

Happy Veteran's Day and Happy WW!

Enjoy your day off. Funny how my husband is a soldier and has to work, but the civilians in their department have off.

Wow what a cool picture - and seriously those shoes are gorgeous!

I have a lot of family that is or has been in the military, too - and a friend who's been in Iraq since like 2001 I think maybe shortly thereafter.

That is the cutest picture! My hubby has it easy with remembering our first date anniversary - it's our wedding anniversary too (we got married one year after our first date).

1 grandpa, 2 siblings, 1 BIL although they got divorced.. and a niece is soon to enter the ranks...

I ♥ a veteran too, and am grateful.

I kept telling everyone I didn't dress up for halloween what were they looking at.. ? I was the same haggard housewife I always am!

How busy are you the next few weeks? I have a few things in the hopper and need some bloggy friends to help out.. :)

I love that picture!

Both my grandfathers were in WWII and so was my great-grandfather. They were fighting for a different type of world back then. In many ways, a much better world. I appreciate their service.
