Aloha, Whoopsie!

Have you ever gotten into a bit of trouble for something you posted on your blog?

A story you told?

A secret you spilled?

A picture that should have remained unposted?

I ask because my post yesterday (scroll down) may or may NOT have gotten a certain husband all kinds of torqued.

He may or may NOT have accused me of making him look like a "douchebag"....

Whoops.

But it was posted with loooooove and humor, and zero intentions of douchebaggery!

So tell me...

Have that ever happened to you?

What was the post about?

Did you giggle when you read the word "douchebag"?
(That word always cracks me up)

Do you think if I posted about how awesome and MANLY he is for installing the new pendant lights, dimmer switch, and pantry light that he will forgive me???

Funny enough, I think my husband didn't think my current post was as funny as the rest of the world.

Even though HE was the one who kept telling me to blog about it!

It's been cool so far. But, I remember thinking what your husband's reaction would be.

I got in trouble with the hubster for the dumbest thing. I posted a cute video of him playing guitar for our son and he got all pissy and embarrassed. I think he overreacted a bit.

I once had NRA sympathizers after me. I got a lot of traffic from it.

about a year ago I started a poll on my blog about when the broken toilet on the porch would be removed by DH and what I thought was a very humorous post about how it took 2 years for the toilet to be replaced, the trouble with getting plumbers to call us back, etc. Honestly, I was looking forward to months of blog fodder from that toilet on the porch. But DH read it & got all sorts of pissed. Even though we BOTH had been joking about it the night before.

I'd like to think he'd forgive you if you posted how awesome he was for being so handy-dandy-manly for you. ;D

I haven't gotten into any trouble. yet. hehehe.

Happy Aloha Friday!

Nope. I rarely post things that are personal, unless it is just about me. I do not usually post photos unless they are from the past and no family members know I have a blog.

I really thought your last post was hilarious! But then again the post I did that caused me to move from blogger to wordpress wasn't all that bad. @ least not to me & the 14 other people who commented on it. Oh, well, I'm finally getting the hang of wordpress so life isn't too bad, eh?

I can't say that I have gotten in trouble for anything I have posted on my blog. I just started blogging in May and with my father reading it I be careful what I post. LOL

i love calling people douches, but i must admit my confusion as to how it became a word for a total jerk/loser?????

Wow the be honest nothing comes to mind, but I do try to avoid stuff like that (maybe a little too much, I really care way too much what other people think of me) - I hope your awesomely handy husband forgives you. :)

Yesterdays post was awesome!

Just tell your hubby that this just happens when you are married to a blogger. Get used to it. That is what I tell mine and my family. Everything is fair game for blog fodder. ;)

I didn't think it made him sound bad at all. I have definitely posted things that have upset my husband. I try to explain to him that he needs to provide laughs for my readers.

I am super careful about what I post as my mil MAY read my blog. She says she does, but I really don't belive her, but on the off chance she does glance at it, I don't want to regret anything.

If I had known how many people would read my blog, I might not have told my family about it. Alas! I have to edit what I write because my MIL reads my blog... but I don't really think my husband always does!

I made my husband mad when I called him a FB Whore and accused him of having a secret e-mail account. I straightened up for a while and he stopped reading. Now I post whatever I want and wait to get caught.

I haven't gotten in trouble yet. Waiting for the day LOL.

I still can't figure out how it would be a bad reflection on him ... maybe I'm missing something. We just have a little family blog. I am very careful not to write anything too juicy ... maybe that makes my blog boring. But I think the people around me would appreciate it if they knew what I did NOT write about them (mostly extended family and ex spouses) :)

My family has made it VERY difficult to post ANYTHING about them. Some more than others. The thing is, because I write so little about them, when I make fun of them a little it's the ONLY part of their personality that gets relayed.

It's impossible to capture all aspects of someone's personality in a single post. WE have the luxury of talking about ourselves the way we want, over and over...so people are really getting the best of us. THEY have no control over how we portray them.

My oldest sister has a huge problem with how she's portrayed any time I talk about her...so I try not to talk about her. The funny thing is what I write is EXACTLY how she comes across...I'm thinking some soul searching is necessary.

For what it's worth I thought yesterdays post was funny and CLEARLY exaggerated. Your husband is very hot and sexy.

WhisperingWriter said...

Oh yeah, my husband will occasionally read my blog and he's all, "You make me sound like an ass!" I just say, "Well, sometimes you act like an ass. So there."

sheila said...

Oh I've posted a ouple things that I wish I didn't. lol

But WHY REGRET that Dougs story post? That was frickin GREAT! I love that! He looks no more like a dork than any other husband.

I don't think I've gotten in trouble . . . yet.

I don't think I've ever used the word douchebag before. It is a pretty funny word. :-)
