So along with every other blog on the interweb, I am going to blog about the death of Michael Jackson today.
Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
And I admit it. I am sad that he died. I was a big fan of his back in the day, and I still love his music.
Would I let him babysit? Hell, no.
Will I teach my kids to moonwalk and do the Thriller zombie dance? ABSOLUTELY! That's good stuff, right there...
Even though he turned out to be a tragic, weird, bizarre man in the end...the man did know how to make me feel like dancing...
Here are my Aloha, MJ Questions for you!
1. Michael Jackson's death...do you care?
2. What's you favorite Michael Jackson tune?
3. Who's Bad?
4. Do you think he gets his old nose back in the afterlife, or is he stuck with that weird new one for all eternity?
Kailani is a P.Y. T.

Stumble It!

I hope he gets his old nose for eternity. I didn't hear about his death until late this evening. It doesn't seem real.
I can't believe school just got out. Did you have snow days tacked on to the year?
I'm devastated!! I'm such a fan...
Fav song has to be "Rock with you"
I'm bad!
Ohhh hope he gets the old one!
OMG i totally care that he passed! shoot, we dance to him all the time and his songs put a smile on my face! i know he got a tad shady near the end, but he rocked the effin HOUSE while he was alive. he's a legend like him or not! we did the moonwalk every chance we got today! this one's to you MJ!!!!
Michael and Farrah were icons. to lose them both on the same day was surreal.
I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite song, but favorite album would definitely be The Wall. And I've been humming 'Ben' all morning, FWIW.
My husband and I couldn't stay away from watching the news about it. Micheal Jackson is such an icon in the industry. Your right he turned really weird..but back in the day...WOah doggie!
Pick a fav....probably back in teh days...thriller.
Haa ha haa on the question about the nose in the afterlife!!!! wouldn't we like to know!
I like your questions.
Do I care - kind of. I liked his music way back and he was an incredible dancer. But he was weird! And it is hard to miss or be sad over someone who "could have possibly" hurt innocent children. Just my take on it!
I have always been a fan of his music. AWESOME. Favorite songs...Man in the Mirror, PYT, Human Nature.
I bet he is stuck with the weird nose. :)
Yes I'm sad even if he was a bit strange, he was still an amazing artist. I remember practicing the Thriller moves for hours on end. My favorite MJ song: The Way You Make Me Feel.
I thought it was shocking and very sad that MJ passed away.
My fave tune is "the way you make me feel"
and of course, Ms. Jiggety-Pants is the baddest of the bad. ;) lol
*no comment on the nose question. I hope he has the nose he's happiest with.
I am such a big MJ fan - even in all of his weirdness. My fav song has to be Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Human Nature, PYT.....ooops, too hard to pick just one! The man was a musical genius!
Hmmm - the nose question isn't that easy. I'd like to think that he'd get his original God-given nose back in the afterlife, but something tells me that he'll refuse the offer. After all, I'm sure the angels need a musical genius, rockin', peter pan guy to entertain them now!
RIP Michael Jackson.
I hope he gets his old nose back, and I am sad I loved him back in the day and he is very talented. I loved most of his songs from the 80's, Thriller always is good.
hello... hapi blogging... have a nice day! just visiting here....
My Aloha Friday is similar to yours...wanted to know favorite MJ tune! Mine is "Thriller"!
I am sad that Michael Jackson died. I loved Black or White! What an iconic video w/ the people all morphing into each other !! So sad!!
I actually saw him in concert when he still looked normal!
And it was before his mega hit Thriller and Billie Jean.
I just hope he finds some peace, he seemed like he was a "confused" soul.
And I feel for his children. (Although...maybe now they will have some normalcy? Let's hope so.)
You post was sad...and very wrong all at the same time! (ssshh, that's why I love you Mizz Jiggety....)
Anywho, of course, it's sad because he's a legend -- and who didn't want to be able to do the whole Thriller dance when it was all the rage?
I'd have to say I loved "Beat it"
About the nose -- I suspect that might be the only thing on him that doesn't decompose. I know. Eeeewwwww.
And I thought my husbands morbid idea to wear a glove to work today was really funny -- he's twisted like that -- but he did grow up the son of a mortician. What can I say?
I think it's very sad he left way to soon. I love Heal The World that song just has huge meaning to me. His nose lol god I hope he gets his old nose back! Who's bad MY KIDS Lol!!
I look at Jackson's death as more of a milestone on a time line I think.
http://iamharriet.blogspot.com/2009/06/hot-friday.html
Sad, for sure. Shocked? Not really. Take a look at him... it's amazing that he held up as long as he did. What a mess he was.
I hope he comes back as a child in his afterlife... what he always wanted.
Wow, so serious on a friday! :)
His death definitely took me by surprise - like I didn't believe it at first, even though it was an email from the New York Times that broke the news to me - not exactly tabloid!
I am not even the biggest MJ fan but he was definitely talented. I think it's the fact that he was only 50 that makes it the saddest for me. That is so young!
I'm not sure I can pick a favorite song - but Man in the Mirror comes to mind.
I certainly hope he gets his old nose back in the afterlife - to be stuck with that new thing for all eternity - that would just be tragic.
I heard about it right when it was reported on TMZ, then there was that confusion with some other site that he was merely in a coma...So I was following it until confirmed. I was shocked. Definitely a sad day all around yesterday losing Farrah Fawcett as well. Very tragic.
I have a few favorites of course, The way you make me feel, Billy Jean, umm Man in the mirror...annd Scream, his duet with Janet.
*snicker* You're bad.
I hope he gets his old nose and his skin goes back to normal -- no skin diseases in the afterlife.
I am sad. Mostly because it's a part of my youth that died and you just don't expect that at 41. Same with Farrah, though I am glad her suffering is over.
My favorite song was um..that one...Annie are You Ok? or something like that. I suck at remembering titles.
I think in eternity you look like your true self. So he'll end up with whatever nose he was truly meant to have.
1- I was shocked. I guess I do care. It's a shame, but it's more of a shame what a sad human being he grew into. I pray for him to heal his heart in the afterlife.
2- Billy Jean, Smooth Criminal + more that I can't think of right now.
3- You're bad. and funny. I laughed audibly when I read your questions.
4- Did I mention that you make me laugh? I wonder if he wants his weird little tin-whistle nose in the afterlife or if he would prefer is old nose from back in the day when he was hot? Why don't we ask him what it is that he wants?
Yes I care about his death...you just can't deny what he did musically. Is he weird, duh!
Thank you for not taking this all too seriously. I loved this post.
I don't care that he's dead. I know, I know. I've already gotten crap about that on FB and Twitter. I just can't help it, I'll never see him "the person" apart from what he did to kids. As for his music, yes I'll still enjoy it. I can rock out the Thriller dance. ;)
Oh, and old nose, def. I don't think we get to take our "upgrades" into the afterlife. ;)
Yes, I care. I was waxing eloquent about him this morning while Sirius had him playing on every station (almost), about how he was such a huge part of my growing up years, and my daughter said, "Oh, kind of like The Backstreet Boys, right?" Um, NO. And hey, we are ALL freaky in our own ways, so I can't make any call about that, ha ha ha.
I do care. He was so young, and I think so troubled, it is a tragedy.
It may be Billie Jean. But I did have a PYT shirt and thought I was SO PYT!
My breath is what is BAD right now. Coffee breath. You know its bad, you know it, uh-huh.
He gets the nose, white or black, big or little that hopefully makes him happy and gives him peace.
I always care when I hear of a death, mostly for the people left to grieve. Will I miss his contribution to music? I think his best stuff happened a long time ago...
Billie Jean
Bad? My floors. Dirty and gross. Breath is bad, too...
Old nose will come back...
I definitely care. It isn't like I totally forgot about his freakish (and possibly abusive) ways, but I just can't help but look back on watching that Motown special. I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade and seeing him Moonwalk for the first time was just magical. I watched the video again this morning and was thinking that it would be silly but it still gave me chills. That man was a true performer and I am definitely sad to see him go.
Yes I do care. I don't think people really grasp his mark until you see how the footage and here all the music. So many artists were influenced by him. In the end he also has 3 children. I'm really curious to see what they end up doing. You know the world will be watching.
Favorite song - not sure I keep changing it. He had so many.
Who's Bad? Your bad baby!
I think Michael gets the nose he was born with and he's gonna rock with the higher powers now.
He'll be missed I loved his music and still listen to it sometimes.
If he gets he's nose back he'll freak LOL don't you think!
It's sad, but I'M not sad. I guess he hasn't been the Michael Jackson people know and love for a very long time.
His death was not shocking, his life was more shocking to me. He is an icon in the history of music, but a travesty in the world of mental stability. I don't think that he ever wanted to be an old man, and that he unintentionally may have had a death wish, although, I would not put it past him to fake death either!
ROFL I really really HOPE he gets his old nose back in eternity.
I care & I liked his music as much as the next person ... but it astounds me that SO many people die everyday and ... no one gives a crap.... but when it's someone famous???? why was their life more important. He made music. Woo hoo. What about the firefighters and cops and teachers and missionaries??? Where's their *tribute?
Okay. sorry. lol
favorite song ... pyt rocks. still
who's bad??? me 4 the huuuuge pile
of laundry eyeballing me & practically begging me to wash it. lol
1. I'm sad and a bit shocked. But I'm ready for the media to move on (though I know that won't happen)
2. Human Nature.
3. I'm bad.
4. I hope he gets his old nose, skin, coloring, hair, and cheekbones all back.
I feel bad about MJ. He was such a sad person who never seemed to adjust to his fame and always wanted wanted something illusive that he couldn't have. Sad that we lost such a great talent. I love his music, he could have made more.
I feel sad, because I enjoyed his music in the day too.
I feel he led a tortured life.
Please let him get his old nose back!!
So you decided to follow the crowd and blog about Michael Jackson. You know what that is probably a good idea. Everyone is doing it. As for your questions...
1. Michael Jackson's death...do you care?
Not really. I am a little sad because I am a child of the eighties so I grew up with all of his popular hits like Thriller for example. And moonwalking was hot in it's day.
2. What's you favorite Michael Jackson tune?
That is a tough one, I suppose Thriller just because that video was so so popular and everyone was excited when it premiered. Plus when I was in marching band in college we marched to it and did all the weird moves that are in the video too.
3. Who's Bad?
My three year old daughter. She usually has at least a half a dozen time outs in a given day.
4. Do you think he gets his old nose back in the afterlife, or is he stuck with that weird new one for all eternity?
That is a tough one too. He'll probably want to keep that ugly tiny one but I think he looked much better with the nose he was born with.
I am very sad that he died. He was weird but still an amazing artist and he had great music and videos. I am actually in the mood to bust out the greatest hits CD's I have of his.
Favorite song, Pretty Young Thing and Man in the Mirror.
You know, Jenni, you are so demanding with your questions, questions, questions on Aloha Fridays. ;)lol
I love that song, Man in the Mirror. It always made me sad but it was beautiful.
I hope that he now finds the peace he didn't seem to have during life.
Oh Jiggety, of all the MJ posts lurking about, I always love a call to group participation!
My Michael Musings...
1. Michael Jackson's death...do you care?
In that I wish him the peace he so desperately needed, yes. In that I think it might be nicer to not have things from his personal life descend further into an abyss and we can think about his music more, yes.
2. What's you favorite Michael Jackson tune?
Leave me alone. (That's my answer, not a rude retort to your question.)
3. Who's Bad?
Who's that eatin' that nasty food?
(Oh wait, that's the sister...)
4. Do you think he gets his old nose back in the afterlife, or is he stuck with that weird new one for all eternity?
I think he gets the one he always wanted...not the earth-limited facsimile...
Oh, I hope that he not only gets his old face back but is blessed to realize that there was nothing that needed to be changed in the first place.
I hope the poor man can finally be at peace.
I don't really care much that he died, though. I mean, more than any other person. In fact, he'll probably be a lot happier now.
I saw Michael Jackson in concert when he was with the Jackson 5. I was literally the only non- African American girl in the audience. The screams were so loud I could barely hear the music. It was awesome!
He made non-dancers feel like they could dance (in the privacy of our own bedrooms...of course...ha). And that alone is a true gift. His music made people happy...so I will remember the music.
I am sad....not broken up but yes sad
i like too many of his songs to pick a favorite
I'm BAD...but when I'm BAD I'm Better.
He will get a glorified body and nose to go with. ")
I'm definitely a fan of his music but not his life.
1. I was surprised to find that I DID care. Seeing all that old footage reminded me of what he really did right. It is sad what happened to him later in life but he had talent and it was a beautiful unique thing.
2. Tie between "Wanna Be Starting Something" and "Rock with You." I'm a huge fan of Off the Wall more than Thriller.
3. I'm Bad and I love it. (I'm talking about eating badly though. Sad.)
4. Old nose. It just looks more natural. I can't imagine he liked the new one.
RIP MJ
I hope he gets his old nose back... this should be a chance to start over, right?! So he should have his original pieces and parts to start with...
It's sad, but I'm really tired of hearing about it. Hopefully he doesn't have to suffer with the weird nose for alll eternity.
I was sad for his family and children:( He really was an amazing entertainer.
My favorite MJ tunes...there are so many...Ben, You Are Not Alone, Man in the Mirror, Thriller....too many to mention!
Who' Bad? I'm bad, sister!
The nose...I hope he gets his original back! lol!
Yeah, I think he gets his old nose, lol. What a hoot!
Who's bad? Me's bad! lol
Fav MJ tune? Hard to say I love that one 'Black or white'? Is that the name? That whole album rocks.
Yes,, I care about his death, but I would have loved to have heard a little more OTHER news the last couple days. GEEZ!
well, his music was outstanding. he made a huge impact on the music world. He was just.... so messed up! I hope he finds peace. As well as his victims(or possible victims...)
I'm sad ...I think I love all of his songs. ...that's 2 of 4 ..lol.
That was so sad!
#1... Absolutely. Weird yes, but monumentally talented. Huge loss to the music industry.
#4... we just had that conversation at the dinner table last night. Consensus says... he gets his old nose back.
Oh, I so taught my girls the moonwalk. I loved MJ when I was a kid. I actually had a sticker in my sticker book that said I Love Micheal Jackson. (What happened to sticker books and trading stickers? Such a big thing when I was a kid.) Okay, back on topic. Will get his old nose back, I believe.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer!
Jen
I was very surprised, and yeah, I liked Thriller back in the day, but I'm not really that sad about him...on the other hand, I am VERY sad about Billy Mays...now THAT dude was entertaining!
It has been a crazy week in hollywood that's for sure.
P.Y.T is my favorite. I mean who does not love the term ~ "tender-roni"??
MJ's bad!
As for his afterlife, I sure hope he restores everything of his former self!
I was shocked to hear that he died but I feel like his best talent was behind him. He did leave quite a legacy though...
My favorite song of his was probably "Beat It." I really liked the beat and no, that's not a pun.
I think MJ was "bad" in a few meanings of the word...
I hope God restores him to the man he was supposed to be.
Do I care? It's really hard to give a damn anymore when it's being shoved down our throat 24/7. Seriously, haven't any houses burned down, or isn't congress doing anything, perhaps a Senator having an affair with an extraterrestrial? MJ is ALL that's on the news. Do we really need to know about his will? I mean unless of course, there's a clause which includes me. Then by all means go ahead. *lol*
Fav MJ tune would have to be "Scream"...it was dark and edgy and not coated in that sugary yuckiness of every other Top 40 hit (I only today got around to posting about him and Farrah). I didn't really care too much for his music.
Who's bad? No clue. Well, unless you consider what I just ate...then it's definitely ME!
His nose? Well if you believe in reincarnation, somewhere there is going to be a dung beetle walking around with a pretty effed up nose!
