WW: I'll Take That In Pennies and Dimes, Please

Imagine the sheer delight I felt, when I received this notification in the mail!

It informed me that NOT ONLY did I pay off all of my Student Loans after 13 long years...

But!

I OVERPAID! And they owed ME money!

I want to send them the check back!

I want to tell them I want one dollar a month...

for 51 months....

AND I think they should pay me interest!

It's only fair...

Congrats on paying off your student loans. I never thought it was possible to do that.

Congratulations on paying off your loans! I once spent 3 years paying of medical bills and then 2 years later received a check for almost $200 they 'mischarged' me for.

After we closed on our house in March I got a full mortgage payment back -- with the letter that said PAID IN FULL! That was a great feeling -- and should last until, you know, we sign on the dotted line once again. But for now, I'm totally going with it.

And yes, you deserve your interest back -- although you'd probably never get it -- but a girl can dream, right?! :)

Now go buy yourself something real purty!

haha yeah right! But hell at least they caught the error and are sending it back! I can't wait to pay my loans off. I feel especially angry at paying them knowing that I'm not even using my degree. ugh.

You're hilarious. Brilliant. Yes, they SHOULD pay interest.

My husband and I both just finished paying ours too. We practically threw a party.

You paid them off!?!?!?!? I am so monumentally jealous. And I like your plan, only make sure over the course of the 51 months, you send them constant changes to your privacy notice and interest rates!

I hope you're not going to do something sensible with that money! I'm thinking a cute summer top, or a pair of shoes, or maybe a new purse?

Congratulations on your lack of debt, and unexpected return of money. It's almost like they're saying, "Hey, we didn't teach you THAT well."

That would buy quite a few Starbucks specialty coffees, and a few trashy magazines...YAY!!!!

Heatherlyn said...

HAHAHAHA. It would be funnier, except that I'm still paying my student loans. I think I'll be a grandma by the time they are gone.

CONGRATULATIONS on having your student loans all paid off. It's a big deal. They should have announcements or something that people can send out. And then everyone should give you cards and gifts and take you out to dinner. I don't know what is a bigger deal, graduating from college or having it all paid for, including interest? :)

angie said...

Congratulations. I think we're down to 18 years left on Jeff's loans. :)

Sandi said...

hahaha I so totally agree with you! I am about to wrack up more student loans. I'm heading of to nursing college in January. :)

I would KILL to get a letter like that. I'm still thousands away. You shouldn't have to pay interest on educational loans! I was trying to make myself a better citizen!

You lucky dog.

Just A Mom (Call me JAM for short) said...
