Set Your ALOHA Phasers to Stun!

I am going to see the new Star Trek movie tonight!

First of all, let me just say that this new Captain Kirk??

Yum.

Yeah...I'd like to let him boldly go where no man has gone before...

(Except, you know my husband has totally been there, but I think you get what I am saying.)

That is how I am kicking off my Memorial Day weekend!

I love a good Science Fiction Geek-Fest Film, so I am pretty jazzed about it.

My other plans for the holiday weekend include:

Sleeping late.

Spending too much time online.

*Epic cleaning of my entire house

Napping.

Spending time with my boys.

Watching ridiculous amounts of television.

*maybe.

My Aloha Friday Questions This Week Are:

Have you seen or do you plan to see my new boyfriend in the newest Star Trek movie?

Do you know what the Trouble with Tribbles is?
(If you don't it is okay...it just means you are probably younger or way cooler than me. Probably both!)

What are you doing this Memorial Day Weekend?

Aloha: the final frontier! Check out more at An Island Life!

Yes, seriously, Chris Pine can totally boldly do whatever he wants. Yes, mmm.

And, this weekend we'll be preparing for vacation. Because we have a child, so vacation takes prep. And, then you when come home- you need a vacation from the vacation like minus the kid. It's just the math of things around here.

we are getting out of dodge...heading for the hills...escaping reality - if only for a couple days.

Sounds like a great game plan. Enjoy your weekend!

I would like to see the Star Trek movie but no one else in my family wants to see it. I guess I'll wait until it's on DVD.

I have no idea about Trouble withs Tribbles?

And, we have no special plans for Memorial Day.

Have a great weekend!

DH & the boys are going camping. I, instead, am going rake gravel & level the pool area, set up the pool and then get on my hands & knees and scrub and dry my slate kitchen floor.

Because I hate camping *that* much!

I'd go see Star trek at some point but I'm afraid physical exhaustion would overcome me in the theater.

I hope you have fun at the movie! Have a wonderful weekend!

I DO want to see that movie. I grew up watching Star Trek with my dad. Every movie....every episode...even the Next Generation.
We'll be chillaxin' over the weekend and having a big bbq with family on memorial day.

Hmmmm, for that yummy slice of heaven, I might just go see Star Trek...although I probably wouldn't know what's going on.

And I have no idea what Trouble with Tribbles is...do tell.

As for my weekend....Hubs will be home so I'll be cracking the whip and we'll be working on getting the house ready for the big move. The moving truck comes June 8th...how did this happen?????

Hopefully somewhere in between all of the above I'll get to munch on a hotdog and some watermelon and crack open a few beers.

Friday Hugs!!!

Have fun seeing the movie! I actually don't plan on seeing the Star Trek movie. But I hear it's good.

I have no idea what Trouble with Tribbles is. It sounds like the title of an Afterschool Special.

I'm not doing much this Memorial Day weekend. Just cleaning and trying to relax, if my kids will let me.

I love it when people say they are jazzed about something. I have a toddler so most likely I wont see the movie until we can get it from Netflix.

Tribbles who?

I'll see it when it is out on DVD - we hardly ever go to the movies. But I am intrigued to see what they did with a good classic. I wonder what Shatner thinks of it. Hmm?

I have no friggin clue what Trouble with Tribbles is... Enlighten me.

And this weekend we'll BBQ and go on a drive I bet. Oh and watch the UFC fight Saturday night. I'm not sure if my man has Monday off or not...

Have a great weekend! Enjoy the movie :)

I am not a trekky but here the movie is really good and the new Captain Kirk is good to look at.

I already did an epic cleaning of my entire house yesterday b/c the in-laws are coming today. I think it is going to be a watching movies kind of weekend - it is supposed to rain most of it.

I don't know what Trouble with Tribbles means and I am hoping that you explain.

Thanks for coming by. I agree if only they would just agree that I am right most of the time we could save a lot of trouble and yelling. :)

Have a great time at the movies!

KentuckyGal said...

I've TOTALLY seen your new boyfriend already.

I know that the trouble with tribbles is that they are the only creature in the universe that multiplies faster than my family's pets!

I'm working this weekend, unless the dr puts me off for having the flu.

All I have to say is YUMMMMM! The new Jim, Spock, Bones (hubba, hubba) & the new Jim's dad even, are just yummmy. Yep, saw & am ready to go back! I loved the show although Hubby only thought is was good.

I do know what Tribbles are. Little creatures that multiply. Wonder if that's where the inspiration came about for the gremlins?

I'm chillin. Period.

I actually get to have a date night to see this!!! We got a sitter for a GNO meetup where the men are allowed to join. We were going to go dancing. But, the organizer changed the date. Instead of canceling the sitter, we just changed plans.

My boyfriend is a Trekie so he jumped right on the idea of seeing this movie. So, Saturday night we're heading to the theaters for Star Trek!!!

Courtney said...

can my bub go with you, because I don't want to see it?

anyway have a fabulous weekend!!!

we are off to a pool party (not looking forward to me in a swimsuit) and horse show!!!

I'm not really planning to see Star Trek but I love Zachary Quinto from Heroes!

I am not a big sci-fi fan or a star trek fan either but i've heard so many good thing about the movie, I might go see it.
Not a clue what trouble with tribbles is, but it has nothing to do with coolness. I am just OLD! ;)
Have a great weekend!

Ok, I really cracked up at the *maybe.

Chris Pine--where the heck did he come from and why did it take so long for him to get here. Either way, I'm glad that he is in movies because I will be drooling over him from here on out. However, I will not being seeing Star Trek in the movies. I still can't bring myself to do it.

I think you need to share your new boy toy - um I mean boyfriend - with me!

Yes, I'd love to see the movie!

My parents took ALL THREE GIRLS for the weekend, so hubby and I will be "rockin' the romance" - I think! LOL Have a great holiday weekend!

Enjoy your weekend. We're hanging out with friends...eating, drinking, laughing. Maybe catch the new Night at the Museum movie. Just glad we don't have soccer games this weekend.

never thought much of star trek, but hey, i can start! what i want to know...do you think he'll be as hot when he's doing priceline commercials?

TheAngelForever said...

No plans on seeing the movie. Yes, I know what it is thanks to TechyDad being a Star Trek geek. Plans for the weekend are to recuperate from last week at Disney.

Mrsbear said...

He is sooooooooooooo much hotter than Shatner. I'm not going to see it this weekend though, we're off to watch Night at the Museum 2, which my kids can't stop talking about. Ben Stiller is also not as hawt as New-Kirk. :(

Anne said...

My husband loved the new Star Trek movie. I didn't see it since movies cost way too much once you factor in the baby sitter.

Of course, I know about the Trouble with Tribbles. I am neither younger nor way cooler than you. Enjoy your weekend.

Pamela Kramer said...

Most likely when it comes out on DVD. He's pretty handsome.

MommyAmy said...

I saw it last weekend!!! It is SO GOOD! You're gonna love it!

Throughout the movie Hubs and I kept leaning in to "out geek" each other: "What is the serial number on the outside of the ship?" "1401, Duh!"

And you're so right, the new Kirk is HAWT!

Yes, I know the trouble with tribbles. :P

We're doing not much this weekend. :(

Yum is right. He is babealicious. I'll be spending the weekend helping my husband's grandparents move into their new house. Woo. hoo.

Have a good one!

THAT'S Captain Kirk?!!?! I may need to change my weekend plans to see THAT!

I'm not a big star trek fan but judging from that picture I may have to give it a chance!
No idea what The Trouble with Tribbles is...
I have no big plans except that the pool opens this weekend and I'm hoping the weather will warm up!

That was an awesome movie, I just saw it with some friends a few days ago.

I love your plans for the weekend, mine is to turn off the alarm clock, yeaah!

Lisa (Jonny's Mommy) said...

Hubby and I are going tomorrow. I can't believe he waited this long to go. Several things popped up that kept us from going before and now he is determined to get there. He is one of the biggest Trekkies I know. At least he isn't wearing a uniform or something. Ugh! That would be sooooo embarrassing. :-)

Momma@Live. Laugh. Pull your hair out said...

OMG youre frickin hilarious!!!!

CaraBee said...

Oh yes, I have seen it AND I know of the tribbles from both the original and the Star Trek DS9 episode. Ha, beat that! You're going to love the movie. Mr. Pine is delish and the rest of the cast are pretty darn good, too.

I'm visiting my parents this weekend.

I have to say that this Capt. Kirk is a BIG improvement over the other one! Set Phasers to Stun Indeed!!

Oh, cute, 12 year olds........

I have even featured a photo of the Tribbles in my blog before. And that new Kirk? He helps me get my inner cougar on! I hope to see it soon.

Me, too, except for the housecleaning part; there'll be plenty of time for that in 9 days! (summer vacation) I'm almost caught up in my reader; it's been so nice to catch up :)

No interest in the movie, unfortunately...never watched an episode of Star Trek. and I've never heard of Troubles with Tribbles...

And this weekend has just been relaxing...

The new Uhuru is pretty easy on the eyes as well. And I'm not doing anything for Memorial Day because I'm not American. But I am unemployed so it's a long weekend anyway.

i'm sorry jenni. i am unable to read your post. all is see is captain nom nom nom. *sigh*

Heatherlyn said...

Today is the first time the text of your post is showing up for me!

You are so funny!

OK, I haven't seen the movie but I've heard it is good and probably will eventually.

I don't know what trouble with tribbles is ... but isn't that a Star Trek episode with little furry things? It sounds so familiar. I watched Star Trek (I think they were reruns) when I was a younger child, maybe 8 years-old. If it is what I think it is, it is coming from a memory that is very long ago! I used to think that Scottie was cute, when I was 8.

My daughter had a dance recital Memorial Day weekend and we had a BBQ on Monday!
