The Catholic-ication Of The Children

Here they are...in all their newly "hosted-up" glory!

See how Jesus is sort of glowing in the background over their heads?

I am pretty sure that was a divine message telling me I should go and buy myself a lovely gift for being such a FINE Catholic mother...

(Either that, or it is a spotlight. But whatever, I am still shopping)

The white pants did NOT stay white. Douglas managed to sit in something. It was raining. There were puddles and mud and wet shoes. They are boys. Dirty white pants where pretty much a forgone conclusion.

As soon as we got home, we tossed aside the vests, ties, and white pants. Then they partied in their polos...

Then on Sunday, the Catholic-cation continued with the Baptism of my Fairy God Niece, Erin!

(I look a bit like I am winking in this picture. I think maybe the spirit was moving me...)

The Spirit was DEFINITELY moving me in this one...

The best thing about celebrating Three Little Catholic Blessings in two days?

Cake!

Lots of delicious cake with crosses made of buttercream frosting on top!

Amen. And YUM!

It does look like you had a great day and I don't think anyone thought for even a minute that those pants would stay white. I'm glad you had such a blessed day and the spirit would have moved me too.

Happy Monday!

Wait, all this time I've been avoiding church and now you tell me there's CAKE?!

Don't they look absolutely angelic in their First Communion pictures?

You will pull those pictures out and sigh longingly when they hit the teenage years!

It's so weird, because we baptize kids when they are 8, and I have another blog friend with twins, who look nothing alike, and they were both baptized on Saturday, and wearing all white.

It's kind of eerie!

Heatherlyn said...

How funny. Since when did kids wearing all white at communions and baptisms become eerie? What kind of a culture are we living in? (I'm just kind of thinking of one of the other comments someone made.) I really enjoy seeing kids that are being raised with some sense of their religion. It's very healthy. And the white looks great!

Cake! Makes me want to be baptized all over again.

CAKE!

Sorry. I got excited there.

Really cute pictures. I don't think even I could keep my white clothes white. I'm a fairly messy person, you see.

Yep, y'all do look kinda glowy! And @ least you have photographic proof that once upon a time your boys wore white & looked Good! (@ least until the mud/dirt vicously attacked them! he,he)

Ummmm, buttercream.

It would take more than a miracle to keep white pants white, especially with mud and rain. You are certainly a fine Catholic mother and I think a lovely gift is definitely in order (who was responsible for making sure the boys made it to CCD).

I think its wonderful the way you are bringing your boys up with morals and religious tradition. So rare to see these days and such an important part of a childs formation.

LMAO @ Amen and Yum!

The spirit did appear to be moving you. You look like it may have moved you to the communal wine cellar.

Nothing sacrilegious intended God. Amen. (please no lightening bolt, please no lightening bolt)
