Wordy Wednesday: A Slightly Sentimental Jigg

One of my favorite things about this time of year...

Is writing letters to Santa with my kids.

This year, they did theirs all on their own.

Dougie even googled the proper mailing address!

And I loved how they came out!

I love that they BELIEVE!

All of their Christmas Wishes and their HOPES, and the Excitement...

It brings tears to my eyes!

(And HEY 6th Graders on the bus?

If you know what is good for you, you will KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

Because if you ruin this for me them,

I will hunt you down...

Punks.)

Dougie's Letter Ready to mail:

Jackie's Letter:

Happy Wordful Wednesday! Go see Angie at Seven Clown Circus to play along!

I love letters to santa too!!! Last year Jake was being a stinker to his sister and I had santa write a letter back to Jake and "referenced" a few things Jake had done to his sister and reminded him that santa was watching everything he did. It worked last year so I ran with it!!

Jenni? I'm confused. How would the 6th graders ruin it? What are you implying? Jenni!

this list actually doesn't look too different from my 15 yo's. except the movie that shall not be named. actually, i think i see eraser markings around it, and perhaps a certain mom added that one in??

Too cute! This year is the first year my 5 year old is going to send good 'ol Santa a letter. She's really into it...and I'm so glad!

That is really cute...and I was just thinking Jack could really use a new gun, lol! A new gun and is that a necklace, too? Love it! And I love that Dougie googled the address!

All my kids know now. The rule is if they act like they know and don't go all out with the Santa thing, Santa doesn't come see them. My 22 year old still runs down the stairs Christmas day. Love the word "new" in front of all his wishes. Like the elves would give him the junky used ones in the trash pile....

And if you want your letter FROM Santa postmarked from the north pole, send it to:

North Pole Christmas Cancellation, Postmaster, 5400 Mail Trail, Fairbanks, AK 99709-9999.

Mine's going out today! =)

That is fabulous. My girls sent emails to Santa and received responses. They were very happy. We have 4th graders trying to ruin it for me. I just tell my daughter that her peers don't know everything.

Hahaha what a day we live in when our kids google santa. *LOL* Love it. Cute letters too!

I wrote a list yesterday too but it went to the Lion's Den - Maybe I need to use Jack's address instead. I'll probably get further. I'll help if you need back up on the 6th grade beat down!

So precious, Jenni!! =)

Sadly, my oldest doesn't believe anymore. Ha ha, I said the same thing to him, "If you tell your little brother - ever - I will hunt you down!" LOL

I love the part: "Dear Santa, I'll see you soon."
So frickin' cute!!!

Seriously...that is so cute! I was heartbroken when I found out in the 3rd grade that there really wasn't a Santa Clause by some A-Hole I went to school with...He was punk and ruined my childhood...okay...I'm exaggerating here...but I used to write Santa every year, it's one of my fondest memories as a child!

That is so sweet! My six yr old asked me when we were gonna send his wish list off to Santa but to be honest, I hadn't really thought that far! I didn't know there was a real address?

Tenakim said...

His envelope is the PERFECT LETTER TO SANTA!!! Looks like something an ornament is made out of or something!

angie said...

I needed Santa's address. Thanks, Douglas. My 6 year old came home yesterday and told me her friend said Santa isn't real b/c she saw her parents putting presents under the tree. I hunted her down....in my mind at least. Punk. Of course she only saw her parents putting presents under the tree from them. She should get that cleared up, pronto. :)

I eat them.

OMG ADORABLE!!! Best part? "Dear Santa I'll see you soon. Love Jack"
I think my heart just melted.

My oldest is 5 this year so this is the first offical letter to Santa I'm doing with her. Before she was too little to get it. Now there's the excitment of writing it, and the mailing... I can't wait for that.

Her little sister (who will be 2 on friday) will probably do one too. She'll be pretty clueless but it should still be cute.

My kids have been making Christmas Wish Lists for over a month now and my 4 year-old is convinced that Christmas will NEVER get here. "It takes forever!!"

I love this time of year...especially with my little ones who still Believe. :)

I love the threat to the 6th graders! It cracked me up. I hope that Santa can fulfill some of their wishes.

I ♥ this!

We'll be writing our own letters soon - if I could only get my 4yo to stop circling EVERY toy in the catalog!

ComfyMom~Stacey said...

A new gun. I love that!

Havoc is more specific. He wants 'a black long gun with round bullets'.
But I'm not letting him have it because he'll probably shoot his eye out with it.
Or his brother's.

How adorable! My kids write to Santa each year too and I just LOVE reading their letters too.
FYI We send to that same address and they are awesome and always send back great letters. Did you know there is a Santa at that address? My brother actually visited him when he was stationed in Alaska.

Happy WW!

I still have every letter my girls wrote to Santa. I read a few the other day and laughed and cried the entire time!

mrsbear said...

Ha! We just wrote ours the other day, my girls don't believe any more but my five year old was primed. In a couple of days I'll send him a reply, that should keep his brain working for a little while.

Ann said...

I'm with you on this Jenni!
My fifth grader has been giving subtle hints that "kids are talking" at school, and it just makes me sad. I mean, come on! The world can be so crappy. Can't we just hang on to one little bit of magic? Please?
(I feel bad for those little punks. I mean that in a loving way, of course. ;-> )

On The Verge said...

That is priceless. We just wrote all of our letters here too. God help the first child that spoils it for mine!
